Optimize For Search Engine Success

Search Engine Optimization is a great way for your site to get more exposure, to attract people looking for your services, products, or information.

Your customers are going to spend as little time as they need to find the information, products or services they are looking for.

The higher up in the search results, the more likely your web site will be noticed. Our expert writers know how to make pages that the search engines love.

Don't be satisfied with being on the last page of search engine results, start optimizing your web content today.

An effective way to bring more traffic to your website is to display web pages with content that describes the services and material your audience is looking for. Content that includes words and phrases used by your customers when they search for your products and services is known as optimized content.

Here's a little advice to help you get started on optimizing your site for the search engines.

First, identify the keywords and phrases your target audience will be using to find you. This is not difficult to do. After you identify the keywords, make sure your write them down. Keep in mind that you may experience better results in the search engines if your keyword phrases contain three or four words. An example keyword phrase for a Honda Lawn & Garden care company would be "Honda garden tractor".

The next step is to create a web page for each target keyword or keyword phrase. So if you chose the following three (3)target keywords:

  • Honda Garden Tractor
  • Honda Lawn Mower
  • Honda Weed Trimmer

You would want to create three (3) web pages, one for each phrase. Each page should contain it's targeted keywords within the TEXT of the content.

Search engines display your web site more prominently in their search results when your web pages contain this type of content.

The search engines can only consider your site and pages for the text-based words that appear on it. That's why you need to carefully choose your keywords and include them in your text.

You want to be careful, don't use the keywords too many times on the page.

Google and Yahoo search engines may penalize your site for excessive or gratuitous keyword usage. Repeating your keywords over and over is a sure way to get into trouble. Hiding your keywords on your page by making the font color the same as the background will also land you in the sin bin.

In the industry, this is known as "keyword spamming", and it's serious enough to get your web site BANNED. So be careful. A good guideline would be to use the keywords on your page no more than three or four times. More if your page contains a lot of text. Remember, be careful about it. Google and Yahoo! do not care if your site is in their system.

Search Engine Review

Google searches more sites more quickly, delivering the most relevant results.Introduction Google runs on a unique combination of advanced hardware and software. The speed you experience can be attributed in part to the efficiency of our search algorithm and partly to the thousands of low cost PC's we've networked together to create a superfast search engine.

The heart of Google's software is PageRank™, a system for ranking web pages developed by founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University. And while we have dozens of engineers working to improve every aspect of Google on a daily basis, PageRank™ continues to provide the basis for all of our web search tools.

PageRank™ Explained

PageRank™ relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important."

Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank™, which Google remembers each time it conducts a search. Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don't match your query. So, Google combines PageRank™ with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines all aspects of the page's content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it's a good match for your query.
Integrity

Google's complex, automated methods make human tampering with our results extremely difficult. And though we do run relevant ads above and next to our results, Google does not sell placement within the results themselves (i.e., no one can buy a higher PageRank™). A Google search is an easy, honest and objective way to find high-quality websites with information relevant to your search.
